Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of ensuring a website can be easily found and indexed by search engines. This typically involves researching relevant keywords that your customers will search for, and ensuring they are included in your website text. Sounds simple? If you want to do some DIY SEO then this is the most important advice. Just don't go over the top and stuff every sentence with keywords - a turn-off for both customer and search engines.

Search engines will favour a website which has plenty of links to it from other websites. Link Building is the process of getting other sites to link in to your website. We don't offer this as a separate service but we can offer a few suggestions of places where you can get links in to your site:

  • Add links to your website from forums, facebook pages and blogs
  • Use local directories, such as sheffield.org.uk for the Sheffield area, or search for directories in your area
  • Trade Organisations and suppliers may be able to offer you a link
  • Offer to swap links with friends and similar but non-competing websites

website hosting

Once your website has been created, it needs to be 'hosted' so that it is always available, and people anywhere in the world can view it via their web browser.
